Jardín de Cactus

Jardín de Cactus

The Jardín de Cactus was secured by César Manrique as a cultural site during the 1970’s but only finished and opened to the public in 1990, making it his last project in Lanzarote before his death in 1992. The windmill has been restored and the gardens are set down below ground level in what was an old quarry, making them sheltered from the trade winds and planted with over one thousand different varieties of cactus from around the world.
