Scuba Diving with Island Watersports

Island Watersports are a well established company in Lanzarote, having been based for some years in the resort of Puerto del Carmen.

The company recently moved from the marina at Puerto Calero to impressive new premises right on the harbor in the old town of Puerto del Carmen and it's a fabulous location for divers and their partners.

The business is now based in the large building next to the popular restaurant Casa Roja, and is perfectly set up for diver's comfort. On the ground floor they have a well stocked gear shop, a huge wet room with private changing area and secure lockers to store your clothes. There is also a membrane compressor, offering air or Nitrox.

Many dive schools run out of small untidy premises and leave you to get changed on the side of the road. One of the biggest benefits of IW’s fabulous new premises is that you can simply hang up your kit,  hose it down, get a hot shower and change back into your dry gear in comfort and privacy.

Every aspect of the shop, the training area and the equipment is high quality, clean and a pleasure to look at.

Upstairs there is a comfortable teaching area where students can study for or take examinations. Georg and Trudi are qualified to instruct for organisations including PADI, SSI and CMAS.

Island Watersports’s dive boat is a Valiant 7.5 metre RIB powered by a Volvo Penta 160 h.p and moored in the harbour which is a short walk from the changing area. The company offers dives in all the best sites in Lanzarote, where the water is always warm, clear and full of interesting species.

Additionally Island Watersports offer a selection training courses for power boating, shore based basic navigation and VHF radio.

There are a dozen bars and restaurants in the area for a post dive lunch or a drink.
